ShedLink — Privacy Policy

ShedLink (“the Extension”) is a Twitch Extension that lets viewers take part in a streamer’s game using an in-Extension virtual currency. This policy explains what data the Extension processes and why. By using the Extension you agree to this policy.

1. Data we process about viewers

• Twitch identity. By default the Extension only sees an anonymous, opaque viewer ID supplied by Twitch. When you choose to share your identity, Twitch provides your Twitch user ID, which we use once to look up your public Twitch login (username) through the official Twitch API. We store your username to track your progress on the channel. If you do not share your identity, the Extension shows a limited, read-only view.
• Activity & gameplay. Watch time on the channel, AFK status, your number of chat messages (we store only the length of a message, never its text), watch streaks, and your in-Extension virtual-currency balance.
• Content you choose to submit. If you use optional features that send text — text-to-speech messages or bug reports — we store the text you submit so the streamer can act on it. Please do not include personal information in that text.

2. Data we do NOT collect

We do not store your email address, real name, payment details, or the content of your ordinary chat messages. We do not store your IP address as part of your profile; an IP address may appear briefly in server security logs and is used transiently (in memory) only to prevent abuse, such as rate-limiting.

3. Virtual currency

The Extension uses an in-Extension virtual currency. It has no monetary value, cannot be purchased, cannot be exchanged for money, Bits, or anything of value outside the Extension, and cannot be transferred between users.

4. Streamer data

When a streamer connects their channel, we store their Twitch channel ID, login, display name, and the Twitch OAuth tokens required to operate the Extension on their channel (e.g. to read channel-point redemptions, subscriptions, followers and chat). We do not store the streamer’s email address.

5. How we use data

Solely to operate the Extension’s gameplay on the streamer’s channel: tracking your virtual currency and progress, reflecting your chosen actions in the streamer’s game, and preventing abuse. We do not use your data for advertising or profiling.

6. Sharing & third parties

We share data only with:

• Twitch, through Twitch’s official APIs (Helix, EventSub, Extension PubSub), as required for the Extension to function.
• The streamer’s game integration (a game add-on), to which we send your Twitch username as your in-game character identifier so your actions appear in the game.

We do not use third-party analytics or advertising services, and we do not sell your data.

7. Storage & retention

Data is stored on our own server (not on Twitch) and retained while you use the Extension. You can request deletion of your data at any time using the contact below.

8. Your choices

You can stop sharing data at any time by removing the Extension or revoking its access in your Twitch account settings. To request access to or deletion of your data, contact us using the details below.

9. Children

The Extension is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction).

10. Changes

We may update this policy. The “last updated” date above reflects the current version.
